Three questions to the project team

What was the particular challenge of the project from a UX point of view?
The UX challenge in developing a non-profit mobile app for saving injured stray animals, helping find lost pets, and attracting more animal shelter volunteers is addressing the diverse needs and motivations of different user groups. Key challenges include designing an interface that facilitates easy reporting of incidents, guiding users to relevant resources, and connecting them with animal shelters. Additionally, the app needs to engage and motivate users to volunteer by showcasing opportunities, providing updates, and fostering a sense of community. Ensuring information accessibility and intuitive navigation are also crucial for enhancing the overall user experience.

What was your personal highlight in the development process? Was there an aha!-moment, was there a low point?
While planning to do a project that is related to non-profit-making activities, many people may wonder whether it is worth doing. But I still have a strong belief every creature on earth should have a right to deserve better treatment. As well as designing the suitable app feature after doing the online survey and face-to-face interviews, I was so happy to find that many people are willing to help those stray animals in need. Moreover, they fully support this concept of connecting animal shelters, volunteers, and people who want to report stray animal discoveries. The potential gap was successfully found after conducting those investigations, talking to normal users, animal lovers, and animal shelter owners.

Where do you see yourself and the project in the next five years?
In the coming years and beyond, my aspiration is to continuously strive for design excellence and establish myself as a thought leader in the field. This project, in particular, aims to leave a tangible impact by prototyping and launching physical locations and modules. Simultaneously, this app will develop its digital presence through virtual event spaces and a user-friendly application. The goal is to foster meaningful discussions, build a community, and influence positive change. Given its relevance to our community and society, I am enthusiastic about pitching this idea to the government. By connecting diverse user groups and stakeholders, we can make this project a reality with ease.
