Three questions to the project team

What was the particular challenge of the project from a UX point of view?
The biggest challenge was that LiveLink ONE would replace existing software tools that had matured over the years. Tools that had a seven-year head start in development. The app had to be designed for a wide range of smart devices (smartphones and tablets) and prepared as a PC application in a short space of time. And this was based on a new design concept and an intuitive UX, both for small and simple lighting systems and for complex systems with several thousand participants, which was particularly challenging. The only thing left to mention is that we conducted recurring tests and interviews with users based on click dummies throughout the entire development period in order to test the design concept and its usability.

What was your personal highlight in the development process? Was there an aha!-moment, was there a low point?
An aha moment and a personal highlight was seeing how well our customers liked the design and user guidance right from the start. It was great to witness how effortlessly they navigated the app during interviews. They managed to complete tasks quickly and independently, even without prior knowledge or assistance. This confirmation served as a significant motivator for the development team and our stakeholders in the company.

Where do you see yourself and the project in the next five years?
LiveLink ONE is more than just an app, it is our new software platform for our LiveLink lighting management systems. The first stage of development is used to configure and operate small LiveLink projects to control a limited number of rooms. The next expansion stage, which is already under development, will enable the configuration of entire buildings with the same app. This will create a configuration tool based on a commissioning philosophy, regardless of the size of the project. In addition, LiveLink ONE will be closely interlinked with the TRILUX eCommerce platform TRILUX ONE in the future, making it an integral part of the entire planning process for lighting projects, from the quotation to planning and implementation.
